General Music (Performing Arts), One (1) 55 minute class per 6 day cycle
Students in grades 5-8 will continue building and developing skills and concepts introduced in lower school. Students will expand their understanding on musical concepts including reading, writing (composing) and performing skills, both individually and in groups. Students will also explore and research music from different historical time periods and styles and discuss it's impact on our society. Students will complete both short and long-term projects throughout the year allowing for both structure as well as independence in the classroom.
Expectations
All students will participate in a safe and inclusive learning environment. All students are expected to try their best and demonstrate progress throughout the year as both performers and listeners.
